The Structure of the Preaching and Teaching Mission of the Earthly Church of Christ

By Fr John Okoro Egbulefu CCE, Rome 7/7/2026

The earthly Church of Christ is on mission to proclaim, namely to preach and teach, to all the peoples of all the nations of the planet earth: 1) to preach to the poor the Good News 1a) that God (who - as a punishment to humans that turned their back at Him and separated themselves from Him and wandered away from Him - withdrew/hid from them His face as eternal Light that was shining upon them and for them to enable them see Him and themselves and their surroundings and sowith not only appreciate the good realities but also avoid the evil/bad/wicked realities they have seen)  has forgiven them their offences against Him through the powerful intervention/mediation/intercession of His incarnate Son Jesus Christ the Godman as the most efficient and proper Mediator  between God and humanity  hence as a Priest, in general,  and particularly  as the most efficient and proper Mediator of the needs and quests and questions and requests of humans to God and of the salvation and truths and answers and graces from God to human individuals and to the human collectiveness (comprising families and ethnicities, communities and societies,  nations and peoples of kingdoms);

2) that the Kingdom of God (as of Goodness itself in person) that as something good diffuses itself goes beyond the boundaries/frontiers of heaven and turns and descends from on high towards the planet earth - and that is implored by the inhabitants of the earth,  upon their sighting it coming down, to come to them like the daily Sun from on high comes to visit them as a people in darkness, groping in the dark and beating about the bush - has arrived on earth and is visible and audible and palpable in the midst of humans on earth in the divine person of Jesus Christ the incarnate Son of the living God, who is both Lord and King, thus not only that Lord of whom the imploring inhabitants of the earth  say stupendous things like “Holy, Holy, Holy Lord, God of host ! Blessed is he who comes in the Name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest” , but also that  King (saving Ruler) of the Universe (unity of heaven and earth) to whom the inhabitants of the earth say also stupendous things like : “Heaven and earth are full of your glory” ;

3) that there will be no more death , for death itself shall die,  killed by the powerful death of Jesus the Son of man on the Cross, whereby when death itself is dead what will remain is immortal life on earth and eternal life in heaven. The power of the particular death of Jesus overpowers the power of death in general, overthrows the plot of the Devil as of the planner of death in general, and overcomes the limits posed on the human life by death in general.

Jesus as the Lord (Dominus) in whose divine as eternal and almighty and supernatural person the Kingdom of God that has arrived in the midst of humans is visible and audible and palpable, not just  domineers in the assembly of powers but dominates every adverse power, subjugates to His ever superior and supreme power, the power of every opposing creature, depowering the creature and reducing its relative powerfulness/potency to powerlessness/impotency through His absolute allpowerfulness/omnipotency. That is why the inhabitants of the earth  invoking Him and inviting Him to live in them as in the members of His Mystical  Body called the Church, particularly in His Mother Mary as the Mother of the Church, implore Him to crush in unity  with the Holy Spirit to the Glory of God the Father all evil forces as powers that are the adversaries of the

one and indivisible and yet all-embracing power of the three of them as consubstantial persons in the numerically only one God:  “O Jesu vivens in Maria, veni et vive in famulis tuis, in spiritu sanctitatis tuae, in perfectione viarum tuarum, in veritate virtutum tuarum, in comunione mysteriorum tuorum, dominare omni adversae potestati in Spiritu tuo ad Gloriam Patris”.

 The Good News required to be preached to the poor is that piece of News  that is good, namely suitable and useful and desirable to those in conflict with God as offenders of Him and suffering punishment for their offences/trespasses against Him , and whereby B) He can forgive His offenders their trespasses by showing them His hierarchically structured mercy as His punctuation of their suffering, His putting comma or semicolon or full stop  to their suffering.

The poor to whom the Good News is required to be preached are those human individuals and human collectiveness (comprising religious and bilogical  socio-cultural, intellectual  socio-political socio-economic or business families, ethnicities, communities societies, nations and peoples and kingdoms) who have turned their back at God  and separated themselves from Him and wandered away from Him as from the proximate/remote/ultimate source of all riches, whereby - through their turning  their back at God and separating themselves from Him and wandering away from Him  as from the source of all riches - they  1) not only became poor or fell into the state of poverty, 2) but also 2a) incurred the due punishment for their wrongdoing , a punishment meeted out to them by the just God as the God that gives to persons their dues and who, since what is due to the offenders of Him is punishment, punishes the Offenders, gives to them the punishment they deserve/merit for their offence, whereby the punishment He gives to them is His act of depriving them of His face, withdrawing and hiding from them His face (as something good diffusing itself and as eternal Light shining by emitting rays upon them  and for them to see Him and themselves and their surroundings) and putting them through such deprivation i) into the state of suffering the privation of something good ,  namely  of something suitable and useful and desirable to them, a divine deprivation that led  to the privation/lack/absence in them of something so good, thus a deprivation that led to a defect that is causing an evil/harm/harvock in them and for them in their surroundings, since evil is  the privation of goodness (malum est privatio boni  et ex quaecumquo defectu) as of that being which underlies a good being and the withdrawal of which from a good being reduces the good being to a bad being as a being privy of goodness, and into ii) the state of suffering the darkness that ensues from the privation of Light (that is shining by emitting rays that not only travel into all directions and in straight lines and in bundles and with alacrity and irresistible speed and dispel the darkness that hide from  the eyes of men the sight of themselves and of the things in them and in their surroundings, the sight of the evil as privation arising from the deprivation and of the defect causing the evil, of the deprivation giving rise to the defect, as well as the sight of the good thing and of the goodness itself that underlies the good thing, but also make in each direction the dialogical movement of going and coming back (returning), going from the face of the light as from the common source of the rays to objects outside the light  (egressus usque ad exitum), and  coming back (returning) from those external objects to the face of the light as to the common source of the rays (regressus usque ad reditum), whereby the emitted lightrays going out to the external objects are cast on, hit/strike, the external objects and with these strokes suscitate in the objects warmth, heat and fire, making the objects pass from the state of being cold to that of being warm, to that of being hot, to that of being fiery.

2) to teach all the nations to observe/keel  all His commands/commandments to His adherent followers, His Apostles and disciples, 1) be it as human individuals, 1a) to love God with one’s whole soul, hence whole heart and whole mind, and one’s whole strength, 1b) to love one’s neighbors as one loves  oneself, 1c) to be perfect in charity by doing both corporal and spiritual works of mercy to both  the good and the bad person, to both the just and the unjust, 1c) to repent, 1d) to believe and be baptized , be born from above with water and spirit, 2) be it as collective human persons (e.g. as a family, an ethnicity, a community, a society, a nation, a people): 2ba) to love one another , 2bb) to be in peace with one another, 2bc) to forgive one another, and 2bd) to worship God in spirit and truth, and 2be) to  ask in the name of the Son of God, to search and to knock at the door of entrance, 2bf) to trust in God and trust in His Son Jesus Christ, 2bg) to celebrate - administer and receive - the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist, 2bh) to baptize all the peoples of  all the nations in the Name of the Father  and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
